Ashes 2025-26: Warner Predicts Australia to Dominate England 4-0

The Ashes 2025-26 is set to begin on November 21st in Perth, with Australia and England facing off in a highly anticipated five-match Test series. This series holds significant importance for both teams as it falls under the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. Former Australian cricketer David Warner has made some bold predictions ahead of the contest.

Australia will host the series, giving them a home advantage over their arch-rivals. The previous Ashes series, held in England, ended in a draw. Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, Australia has established itself as a formidable force in Test cricket, particularly on home soil where they boast an impressive record.

Speaking at Fox Cricket’s season launch, David Warner confidently backed his team, predicting a 4-0 victory for Australia. “4-nil. It’s going to be a great series. All dependant on the captain (Pat Cummins). If the captain doesn’t play, they might win one game. If Cummo’s there, 4-nil. If not, they probably win one game only,” Warner stated.

England’s struggles in Australia are well-documented, having not won a Test match there since 2011. While the English players have been in excellent form recently, it remains to be seen how well they adapt to the Australian conditions during the series. The pressure will be on for them to overturn their poor record Down Under.

Warner also voiced his support for Sam Konstas, who debuted against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2024. Despite not yet solidifying his place in the team, Warner has urged selectors to give Konstas an opportunity in the upcoming Ashes series. He believes Konstas has the potential to “build innings” and contribute significantly to the team.

“I don’t think we’ve seen exactly what we know Sam Konstas can do. Last year he probably got overwhelmed by the occasion and we saw some very ‘highlight’ cricket. I’ve seen him build innings, I’ve seen him play some fantastic innings and I’d like to see him go back to just doing that,” Warner added, highlighting his belief in the young player’s abilities.

The Ashes 2025-26 promises to be a thrilling contest, with Australia aiming to assert their dominance on home turf and England looking to break their long-standing drought in Australia. David Warner’s bold predictions have only added to the anticipation surrounding the series.
